But life is vastly different now. Observe my Monday: van overheated in Holland around 2 p.m. and Chris comes and rescues me. He then spends the rest of the night trying to fix it (that DAMN BOLT!), but not to worry: we have a spare car. Rewind to single mom days when there was no one to rescue me, no one to fix my car and you'd see a screaming meemie on the side of the road - with no cell phone. Ugly.
Then again, observe my Tuesday: Chris bought a new refrigerator for our new house, Emily fell off the monkey bars and had to go to the ER. Chris wouldn't think of letting us go alone so we all hung out together in the ER until Emily was ok'd and we went out to dinner.
Or take any other day of the week. It amazes me - truly amazes me - who this man is and how he's transformed my life. My love for him is equal parts awe, respect, adoration, inspiration and...his eyes, his muscles, his sense of humor. Did I say his muscles? Mmmmm....
Even still, when are we going to get that darn house done!?!??!

This sure made me smile. If I want to get a glow on, all I have to do is remember the day you got married, or look at the pictures.

Anyway..I'm glad you have chris..I was just talking to your girls about that last night. I really think in order to appreciate the good things in life, you do have to have some bad ones.
I'm glad he takes such good care of you...his muscles are gross.
Sounds like a keeper :)
Mom: Our wedding day is still a day that chokes me up when I think of it. It was the finest day of my life - and the most proud.
Barkley: If you weren't so naughty and food-crazy and excited all the time you wouldn't get yelled at. Still, we love you ole body-wagger.
Jamie: You are right, the hard times make you so appreciative of the blessing in life - although I'd hesitate to say life is easy now. It never is, but how the challenges are handled in my life makes them mere bumps in the road and I owe that to Chris and his dedication and hard work.
Blackbird: Ah, a faithful follower! And after all this time of virtual silence on my blog...thank you! And yes, I do want to keep my hubby. ;)
Usually most adults tend to marry to be in a relationship to fufill and compliment one another. You seem to marry two times to have someone provide and make your life seem easier.
Marriage is give-and-take with a lot of give on both sides! It all evens out!
Anon: What a strange comment to make, as if love and commitmment and giving on my part have nothing to do with my marriage. The point of my post here was to express gratitude for having a husband who I admire so much. He's a true man and for that I am grateful, that is all I am saying here. Like BPOTW said, a good marriage requires a lot of give and take and my hubby and I work very hard at being there for each other, encouraging each other and expressing our love by doing all we can to make a happy life for ourselves. Reading your comment makes me think you must be very jealous. Hm!
