Snarky Idol judges suck ass

I am SO SICK of hearing the bickering and barbed jabs back and forth between Ryan, Paula and Simon. Ok, I can understand that Simon has no respect for people's dignity, and he stomps all over these brave souls who dare to actually sing in front of him. Part of me says he deserves his comeuppance, and part of me agrees with him whole-heartedly. You tell 'em, Simon! Even still, the negativity of their bickering and sniping at each other is really beginning to grate on my nerves and completely distracts me from what I want to be focusing on: the critique. It's bad enough that Ryan needs to completely dis Simon at every turn, but I seriously thought Paula was going to smack him tonight when he told her to shut up. And I could tell by the way he was looking at her that he was ready to explode. You know, that really sucks. This is a family show, and we watch it as a family. We really don't need to hear that and besides, what do you suppose it is teaching my children? Argue with your coworkers? Hate those who disagree with you? Act ugly just because you don't like how someone said something? This show is quickly becoming non-family fare. Me no likey!

I totally agree..I was thinking the same thing. The show was 3 minutes old and Ryan was already given Simon crap! So what his shirt was unbuttoned, who cares? Ryans pants never fit and Simon doens't cut on him.
I felt bad for Simon tonight, you could tell he was having a bad day.
I agree though, that the barbs (not our barb - but taunts really) this season are not needed and not enjoyable.

I disagree somewhat. I think the dose of tension that conflict adds to the show makes it just a little more tut-worthy. I think they scrap exactly like children in a family, which to me means they feel intimate enough to do so. Having said that, I think there is a little too much this year. I do enjoy their interactions but there were some serious snarks this season. I felt it was wrong of Ryan to ignore Simon when he thanked Randy and Paula for being judges. He did this twice, then I think the producers made him stop. It would be interesting to look up a couple forums on Idol and see what others are saying.

Something even worse happened tonight when we went to watch Idol. We turned on the TV and saw the prologue to that awful show where the people have to tell the truth. So, there we are, all gathered around the TV and there are these questions like, "Have you ever had sexual intercourse with your wife's sisters?" and crap like that. Chris blew a 9-watt. Oh, guess what? Idol switched places with that egregious show and went to 9 o'clock when my girls should have been in bed! Instead of family viewing at 8, they gave us that?!?!?!?

It's been so long since I've had TV, I've gotta ask: do they still have shows about stories?

Doesn't sound like I'm missing much. Although, a little news wouldn't hurt once in a while. Did y'all know that houses are de-preciating? And that some guy had sex with some woman and paid her a lot of money and so he had to resign from his job? And it's supposed to snow tonight?

I have mixed feelings as well, although I agree with Simon I have to ask "how did some of these people end up making it through?"

I wonder if some of those folks are put through with their eyes opened first, you know the briefing by one of the production assistants.."you realize of course you will not likely make it very far but you are an essential component to the success of the show and we are greatfull you agreed to come on. We find it best if you don't think of yourself as a human being with feelings so try to look at it as though you are neuron controlled carbon based filling compount and it seems so much less like you've been used and your emotions manipulated MMMmmm Kay?"

Yes, update your blog. Yoob, I didn't know if you and M still watched the show. They kicked off one of my favorites, but whenever I tell anyone I liked this singer's style, they kinda yell at me.
