I love Michigan. At least the coastal part. I am wondering, with so much clean fresh water and millions of deer why we can't think of a way to make it pay and create jobs.
I'm hoping they will with the alternative energy research and development. If Michigan could become the new alternative energy leader in the US that would be SO huge! Think of what having those jobs and that revenue will do for Michigan....it would change the course of this state's history. With the grim, grim news from GM, we may already be facing a black hole.
The first time I saw that pic, I was like ok..ha ha now with the caption, it's MUCH better.
We need jobs. I know so many people are against a casino in the Muskegon area, but personally, I think it'd be a great way to bring people to the area and more people mean more jobs. Right?
I agree, however a manufacturing economy where you actually make something - and better yet, make something that builds even more industry - is the basis for a solid economy not a consumer/service economy. BUT a manufacturing economy takes many, many, many years to bring to fruition. Face it, it's not like Muskegon has time to waste! A casino would bring quick revenue and jobs for people that desperately need them. I guess you should feed a man before you teach him how to fish. But, really Jamie, fess up. You just want a neighborhood casino. ;)

This cartoon reminds me of that saying, "Will the last person to leave Michigan please turn out the lights?" LOL!
Exactly! What I forgot to put as the title was "Scene from Latest GM Executive Meeting"

If Muskegon had a casino, we could go and visit a lot of our friends and relatives all in one place! Think of the gas/hostess expense you would save!
