Ha ha...I'm not sick, but I can't think of anything else to say...ha ha!
Yeah, some of the New Yorker cartoons are just too funny and deserve a place of honor on my blog. Trouble is...and I feel your pain here...in the face of such wittiness it's hard to come up with something equally witty to say. So, just LOL! ;)
If it were not so apperant it would be funny. Once the govt. hands out health care, manages you're salary and mandates what kind of car you drive none of this will be laughable anymore.
I spoke in another post about liberty and authority; once things you should be responsible for are handed over (or taken) you give up authority and along with it liberty.
To some it seemed like a good idea to tax the ba-jesus out of smokers and drinkers until you realize the programs the govt. is proposing would require 24 million new smokers and drinkers in order to be funded at the desired level.
I remember when this was bandied about a couple years ago unfortunately the warnings were not heard above the din of the chearing hoards chanting "go get those evil smelly smokers!"
so when smoking becomes too expensive many will be forced to quit leaving everyone holding the tax burden for the no doubt bloated program that will be pushed forth.

Yoob - I was so in agreement and have been so furious with the current blockheads in power that I began responding to your comment and ended up writing the post above. Grrrr!!!!
